Your training data

This page explains the data Octo BJJ uses and the services involved. Updated 18 October 2026.

Account and training information

When you sign in with Google, Octo BJJ receives account information such as your account identifier, name, email and profile photo. Supabase provides authentication and stores your account and training records.

Your training records include dates, training type, duration, intensity, selected techniques, notes and any recorded rounds. Optional settings include belt color, monthly goal and body weight. Weight is used for rough calorie estimates.

Why this information is used

Account information keeps your records attached to your account. Training data powers your log, calendar, statistics and goals. Preferences personalize your experience. Your notes are not published as public pages.

Training-history imports and AI

Recognized structured input is parsed in your browser. When free-form text needs AI parsing, it is sent through a Supabase Edge Function to OpenAI, along with parsing instructions and the technique list. Unrelated profile information is not included in that parsing request.

The request disables OpenAI response storage, but this does not mean the provider has no retention for security or abuse monitoring. Only paste information you are comfortable sending for processing. Avoid including other people’s sensitive details. Parsed sessions are saved only after you confirm the import.

Browser storage and demo mode

Browser storage maintains your sign-in and stores demo sessions and demo preferences on your device. Demo sessions are not saved in the real session database. The production app also caches static app files to help it load; training and authentication requests use the network.

Service providers

Vercel hosts the website, Supabase provides account and database services, Google handles Google sign-in, and OpenAI processes unstructured imports when needed. These services may process technical information such as IP addresses and operational logs under their own policies.

Managing your information

You can edit and delete individual sessions in the app and download your session history as CSV from Settings. Self-service account deletion is not available yet. Deleting a session is not the same as deleting an account, and exported files remain on the device where you saved them.

Questions about your data

For privacy questions or an account-deletion request, email support@octobjj.com. Contact us from your account email where possible. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Before a wider launch
